Hunslet RLFC can confirm that half back Cain Southernwood has today joined York City Knights on a month’s loan.
Southernwood joined the club from Batley Bulldogs ahead of the 2018 season and was a mainstay of last year’s squad but has found a starting place hard to come by this season making a solitary appearance in the Challenge Cup victory over West Bowling ARLFC.
Director of Rugby Darren Williams said “This is a fantastic opportunity for Cain to play at a higher level, he’s a model professional and has continued to train hard despite been out of the side.
Initially it’s for a month with the option to either extend or for him to return if we so desire.”
